Quilt of holes

Quilt of Holes
Quilt of holes "My Dream"

As I faced my Maker at the last judgment, I knelt before the Lord along with all the other souls.
 Before each of us laid our lives like the squares of a quilt in many piles;
An angel sat before each of us sewing our quilt squares together into a tapestry that is our life. But as my angel took each piece of cloth off the pile, I noticed how ragged and empty each of my squares was. They were filled with giant holes. Each square was labeled with a part of my life that had been difficult, the challenges and temptations I was faced with in every day life. I saw hardships that I endured, which were the largest holes of all. I glanced around me. Nobody else had such squares. Other than a tiny hole here and there, the other tapestries were filled with rich color and the bright hues of worldly fortune. I gazed upon my own life and was disheartened.
My angel was sewing the ragged pieces of cloth together, threadbare and empty, like binding air. Finally the time came when each life was to be displayed, held up to the light, the scrutiny of truth. The others rose; each in turn, holding up their tapestries. So filled their lives had been. My angel looked upon me, and nodded for me to rise.
My gaze dropped to the ground in shame. I hadn't had all the earthly fortunes. I had love in my life, and laughter. But there had also been trials of illness, and wealth, and false accusations that took from me my world, as I knew it. I had to start over many times. I often struggled with
the temptation to quit, only to somehow muster the strength to pick up and begin again. I spent many nights on my knees in prayer, asking for help and guidance in my life. I had often been held up to ridicule, which I endured painfully, each time offering it up to the Father in hopes that I would not melt within my skin beneath the judgmental gaze of those who unfairly judged me.
And now, I had to face the truth. My life was what it was, and I had to
accept it for what it was. I rose and slowly lifted the combined squares of my life to the light. An awe-filled gasp filled the air. I gazed around at the others who stared at me with wide eyes.
Then, I looked upon the tapestry before me. Light flooded the many holes, creating an image, the face of Christ. Then our Lord stood before me, with warmth and love in His eyes. He said, "Every time you gave over your life to, it became My life, My hardships, and My struggles.
Each point of light in your life is when you stepped aside and let Me shine
Through, until there was more of Me than there was of you."
May all our quilts be threadbare and worn, allowing Christ to shine through!
Please share this with someone you love, care about or even someone who needs Jesus in their heart. They may scoff, but at least the seed has been
Planted, and God will do the rest. May God bless you today and Forever!
God determines who walks into your life....it's up to you to decide who you walk with.
Who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go."

Al Capone's Car

Al Capone's Car

A BIT OF HISTORY I BETCHA DIDN'T KNOW.....

Hours after Pearl Harbor was bombed on December 7, 1941, the Secret Service found themselves in a bind. President Franklin D. Roosevelt was to give his Day of Infamy speech to Congress on Tuesday, and although the trip from the White House to Capitol Hill was short, agents weren't sure how to transport him safely.
At the time, Federal Law prohibited buying any cars that cost more than $750, so they would have to get clearance from Congress to do that, and nobody had time for that. One of the Secret    Service members, however, discovered that the US Treasury had seized the bulletproof car that mobster Al Capone owned when he was sent to jail in 1931. They cleaned it, made sure it was running perfectly and had it ready for the President the next day.

Mechanics are said to have cleaned and checked each feature of the Caddy well into the night of December 7th, to make sure that it would run properly the next day for the Commander in Chief. And run properly it did. It had been painted black and green to look identical to Chicago's police cars at the time. To top it off, the gangster's 1928 Cadillac Town Sedan had 3,000 pounds of armor and inch-thick bulletproof windows.

It   also had a specially installed siren and flashing lights hidden behind the grille, along with a police scanner radio.

Nice winter day

The weather broke a little today so Glenda, Willy, Lacie and I took a
little drive (about 100 miles) to the state park of Luleen near
Tuscaloosa Al. there were many campers out
and even though it was winter brown I can just imagine what this place would
look like in early spring and summer.
A bit of sadness came over me when I remembered how much
my Molly would have enjoyed this stream.
I am old but life has been so good to me, I love to look at my pictures of the good days that
I have had. The people I have loved and lost.
The dogs that have been a part of my existence and all the good
friends that I still have and  us not forget
the thousands of buddies that I will never meet
that are in this wonderful machine called
the internet.

Dogs

Updated 2-5-14 5:300p I am pleased to report that all but one of these dogs have been adopted but one and I am going to keep her until I can find a farm where she can run free. I thank each and everyone of you for your help and support.

Updated Wed Jan 29 10:30 am Bad weather has stopped everything in central Al, so the situation remains unchanged, it is starting to melt off now so soon the roads will be open.
Update Sunday 1-26 I still have all the dogs
Such a wonderful response from all of you, I do want to thank each of you. When it comes to animals I have a very soft heart. But here I will try to answer your questions and share the pic I have
There are 4 females and one male
I think the 3 little white ones are Chows, The bigger white one is a lab and I really think the lab is the mother of the puppies, I think the puppies are about 6 months old and the lab is just over a year.
None have been fixed. I do not know about shots but I would say No to that. They do not like to be tied up. They do not like to be closed up. All are gentle enough and get along well with other dogs. They are currently in Tuscaloosa Alabama in the Metro animal Shelter. Here is the info.
 www.metroanimalshelter.org/
Metro Animal Shelter is a non-profit organization funded by the City of Tuscaloosa, the City of ... 3140 35th Street Tuscaloosa, AL 35401 (205) 752-9101.
I  had them about 2 months and these dogs have been mistreated. I was just getting them to a point where they trust me. They will let me pet them and pick them up and they have learned ride the car with  me. They do not like inside and I have worried myself sick over them with all this cold weather and sheltered them as best as I could.
We are located in Tuscaloosa. Alabama. and the chow puppies are in the animal shelter here. I am on gov land working as a camp host and stray animals are not permitted. So they had to be taken to the shelter. This shelter will put them to sleep if they are not adopted in two weeks. That will be Feb 6.
So please I need your help quickly.

These are wonderful dogs very gentle but they have been abused
and are very shy still.
They just need to be loved and I am going to insure
that they get it..

Stray Dogs

The park rangers did their jobs today, with cages, neck loops, chains and food to bribe them with, they carried my dogs away. Some fool brought the dogs (5) and just set them out at the Rocky Branch USACE park that I am now camphosting.
I have been taking care of the dogs for about 3 months and trying to find them a good home without any success. The rangers tried to help and were very patient in the matter.
You see our government says that dogs are not allowed on public grounds and to some extent I can understand that especially if they are mean dogs.
This 2,000 acres is closed so in my opinion the dogs were no threat to anyone.
Everyone was happy but it is the rule.
Pet Finder, poster board, local vets, and others combined could not help me find these dogs a good home.
They are in the dog pound now and if someone does not adopt these fine pets then they will be put to sleep.
What a shame.
Why can we not all share this planet?
I am a firm believer that all things are made by God and for God.
I did the best that I could for the dogs and
God used me as His servant for a while.
I am not a rich man but I am offering a $5 reward to anyone who will show me the person who set these dogs out at my park. To the person that did it, I promise you that I will get even with you.
I love all animals and respect their right to survive and I will do my best to protect them.
The bottom line is I did my moral obligation to those dogs and when the trucks drove away with them, they all looked at me with eyes that seemed to say.
But I loved you!

MLK and me

It is hard for me to say I was wrong.
But I was on the wrong side in the 60's. Racial tension was at a peak. I don't want to go into this much, other than to say I am glad it has improved, but we still have a long way to go. Read some history and be glad that we will never relive that time.
I wore a white pillow case many times, I was in Selma with my face covered, I was in Bristol and Greensboro.
I was so wrong in my commitment, ill led, so young, unwise, and so sorry,
Father, forgive me for the terrible sins I committed during this national termoil
History documents this time in America, but it is kinda like looking at a picture of the Grand Caynon, it is not the same as standing on the edge and gazing at it's awe.
Our nation is divided once again almost as badly as the North and South and we do have another bridge to cross and burn. The best way to describe this is to look at the political map and analyze the red and blue. That portrays the rich and the poor. The rich will tire of paying for food stamps and welfare programs.
The middle class as we know it will have disappeared.
Lord, I pray that a leader such as King will apear and unite this great nation
and take us back to a time when we were under God with a government for the people.

We Need a Leader

I ask this, you, yes you, could be elected president of the USA, simple because you are an American. Now just imagine being in the white house surrounded by the low life trash we have in gov. I take the blame for this trash. Because I do Vote. What would you do to fight all this corrupt establishment. Well you cant tell me that Obama is not in for one hell of a fight every day. We know that big corporations own America, but if you put all these corps together they would not be as us all put together. The only time Americans band together is when someone attacks us. Then we become savage beast. Gov has always be corrupt, read your history, George, Abe, Harry, it will be 25 more years untill we learn the truth about JFK. What we need is a leader not a politician, well we need two leaders, whether you want to face it or not this nation is divided, not the North and South but the rich and the poor. You middle class, I don't think you exist any more. We have this fantastic tool called Face Book. That could unite the poor. The rich is already united. If you or I were elected leader of the pack and wanted to meet with President Obama he would sit down with us to discuss how he could solve our problems especially if you or I had a few million voters to back us up. Big business would have to listen. Gov can take down big business. Read your history (J.P. Morgan) Vanderbuilt, Carnieg.
Us use F/B and unite, and become powerful, we need to find a leader like MLK a person who can unite and lead. Do you know a leader like this. Is it you, then come forward. Hell if you can't find anyone with the gut to challenge, I WILL DO IT.
Now that you have read my ranting and raving just share it with your friends.
Nothing is going to happen with this note. But this I telll you America is blessed by GOD. And I have been a free American and unless you are over 50 , you do not have a clue what I am talking about. You are a great American and united we can be a great people.
Pass this on or write your own plan and I will follow you.
WE NEED A LEADER,, UNITED WE STAND OR THEY WILL WIPE US OUT!!!
